French 4th Line Regiment

Keeping with my Invasion of Russia theme, I decided to paint the 4th Line Regiment. This regiment was part of Marshal Ney's 3rd Army Corp. They were assigned to the 11th Division under Razout.

The 4th had 4 battle honors and were involved in 37 battles and combats. In those battle they lost their Eagle twice. The first was at Austerity in 1805 to the Russian Guard Cavalry. The second was Wagram in 1809 by the Austrians.

The figures I used were Old Glory  FCD2 FRENCH CENTER COMPANY MARCH ATTACK, FFD5 FRENCH ELITES ADVANCING and BLUE MOON NFT 207 FRENCH LINE COMMAND CAMPAIGN DRESS.
This was the first time I used a wet palette to paint. It made blending the paint on the miniature much easier.

18mm Blue Moon French Drummer

I'm back to painting again. I'm working on a French unit. This drummer is from Blue Moon NFT 207 Line Command Campaign Dress.

Update: After a small bit of research. I should have done before I painted this mini. I found out that the musicians in the 4th line had green facings.
